Dale Joseph Morrison, Esq.

Dale J. Morrison, Esq. is an expert and charismatic leader in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) with decades of knowledge and experience with supplier diversity programs.  He currently serves as Director of the Office of Procurement Diversity at the University of Illinois System, one of the nation’s largest and most renown institutions of higher education.

As part of University of Illinois System Administration, governing three (3) major campuses in Urbana-Champaign, Chicago and Springfield with over $1.7 billion in annual procurable spend, Mr. Morrison oversees all aspects of the University’s Supplier Diversity Program to ensure that businesses owned by minorities, women, persons with disabilities and veterans receive procurement opportunities. 

 

Mr. Morrison has developed and managed numerous initiatives to build capacity and provide business owners the skills needed to be successful. Mr. Morrison has lectured both locally and nationally to institutions and professional organizations on how to establish and manage successful diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs, as well as the economic benefits that DEI has on businesses and the community at large.   Mr. Morrison is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and has earned the degree of Juris Doctor from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.  Prior to his current position, Mr. Morrison served as Administrative Counsel for the State of Illinois, where he provided legal advice for various State agencies, including the State’s Business Enterprise Program.  He has also served as Diversity and Procurement Manager at Chicago’s iconic McCormick Place/ Navy Pier.

 

Outside of work, Dale enjoys singing karaoke and is an avid athlete, having completed over 30 marathons worldwide, including several Ironman Triathlons.  He also enjoys travelling and spending time with his family.
